Mid-Winter Conference

Twenty Colorado CattleWomen met Jan. 18, 2021 in Limon, Colo., with seven members joining by Zoom. President Jo Ann McEndree presided, with Zoom support from Vice-President Karen Smith. Treasurer Kathleen Shoemaker reported affiliate dues and membership dues were still coming in. She asked local treasurers to check member emails when submitting dues. Beef Account Chair Sallie Miller reported the 2020 request of $10,000 was approved to fund five main programs: National Western Stock Show, Poker Run, Ag Fest, Colorado Foundation for Agriculture, and Promotions. Because NWSS and AgFest have been cancelled due to COVID, we have $8900 available for educational or promotional projects. Locals are encouraged to contact Sallie to request funds for projects.

A committee of Heather Stinnett, Kathleen Shoemaker, Karen Smith, and Christina Casey was appointed to plan a fundraiser. An annual fundraiser allows CCW to meet our objective of promoting beef. The Spring 2021 CCW newsletter includes information on the 2019-2020 fundraiser, a brand quilt. Another business item was management of the membership data base. Currently the CCW Treasurer manages the membership data base along with all our finances. Doing both is a time-consuming task for a volunteer position. A committee was appointed to research ways to make these jobs more workable.

Congratulations to Steve and Pat Ptolemy, Best Bet Beeflot, La Junta, Colo., for winning the CCW Brand Quilt, chosen at the 2021 Mid-Winter Meeting!

Keep an eye out for future details on the 2022 Mid-Winter Conference!
