Colorado CattleWoman Rookie of the Year

Loy Jones, Moffat County Cattlewomen

This year’s CCW Rookie of the Year is Loy Jones of Moffat County Cattlewomen (MCCW). Loy joined MCCW in 2018 and her enthusiasm and outgoing personality have been a welcome addition to their chapter. Throughout 2020 she has kept MCCW motivated to promote beef when so many of their traditional events have been cancelled or postponed. Loy has embraced social media and created an Instagram page for MCCW and is a regular contributor to Moffat County Beef’s Facebook page.

Loy has reached consumers by highlighting local ranch families and artisans’ products in our area, in addition to sharing beef recipes, tips, etc. Loy is a great supporter of our youth in agriculture and promotes their efforts every chance she gets. She was also vocal promoter of the Vote No on Prop 114 Initiative and attended local meetings, reached out to our county commissioners and city council members for resolutions opposing the wolf ballot effort. Loy was also recognized by Janie Van Winkle, President of CCA, at this year’s Summer Conference as one of her 4 Volunteers of the Year due to her positive social media presence and messaging. Loy is MCCW’s treasurer and has been instrumental in getting their books updated. Loy will now begin her role as CCW Treasurer in June 2021.

Congratulations Loy on all your hard work and for earning the 2020 CCW Rookie of the Year!
